Do not, and I repeat Do Not, mess with “When Calls the Heart”. The new CEO must not like the hearing impaired…no closed caption available. Christians follow the teachings of their faith which is to love others as themselves.
There's no shortage of talk shows to watch these days, but Hallmark's Home & Family has always offered something extra special. Some people think of it as a breath of fresh air, especially these days. The two-time Emmy-nominated series currently is airing its sixth season. Matenopoulos, who has co-hosted the show with Steines, now is listed as the sole host on the network’s press site and all references to Steines have been removed. I’m so disappointed that Home and Family is being cancelled and of all the changes with the Hallmark channel. I am a retired senior and the Hallmark channel is all I watch and I have to pay for it too.

That means that instead of an older Lacey Chabert movie, the network is airing another episode of The Golden Girls. By the time Home & Family’s final season aired, the show was mainly hosted by Debbie Matenopoulos and Cameron Mathison. Since the show’s fans had developed connections to those two, it begs a question, what are they up to now. Based on her Instagram account, it seems very clear that Matenopoulos has made some branding deals as she is blatantly promoting several products.
For that reason, Home & Family fans had every reason to believe that once things settled down, the show would return and air the same way it did before the pandemic. Once the COVID-19 pandemic began to ravage the world, it resulted in a lot of people getting sick, dying, and losing their jobs. Just like a lot of other industries, the entertainment business was hit hard by the pandemic with many productions shutting down. Unfortunately for everyone involved with Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family as well as the show’s fans, it was one of the shows that were shut down.

When viewership declines, then advertisers don’t want to pay large sums of money for audiences that are not watching. I am so upset by the new direction Hallmark is moving towards. Hallmark was a Christian based, family friendly network, that produced movies which reflected Christian values.
In March,Variety reported that “Home & Family” was going to be canceled. In his post, he didn’t hint at more things to come like he did in his Instagram story, however. On October 5, Matenopoulos shared an Instagram story that hinted at a lot more happening beyond the Christmas special. "Hallmark Channel's Daytime Emmy-Nominated Lifestyle Series "Home & Family" Returns for Eighth Season as the Ultimate How-to Program". Matenopopulos is currently developing two food shows and a lifestyle show, a spokesperson told Deadline.

While the channels officially launched on September 27, they didn’t have any new content at that time. GAC Media asked viewers to have patience as they added more content. GAC Family will start airing original Christmas movies in late October. "With the current information regarding COVID-19 in Southern California, and in keeping with SAG/AFTRA recommendations, we are suspending production on our daytime series, Home & Family," the tweet read. Production eventually resumed in March, but with one major caveat.
I’ve been very disappointed with the many, many reruns of sitcoms. I like “Golden Girls” OK, but they are on a lot of channels. Hallmark didn’t need to air them all the time. Hallmark has so many good movies from years ago that they never air anymore, Christmas or otherwise.

Even he didn’t think it was reasonable that almost every show had gay parts . They have their own stations but Hallmark was the only station for those of us who are not comfortable with so much sexual and gay content. Even though I felt like the cast of H & F was a bit too goodie goodie , the show was very popular and had so many interesting ideas and guests. Sorry to see the changes causing Hallmark heading into the dumpster. Hallmark is not a Christian channel and so what if it is or isn’t?
Tell us how does that help to save money? You won’t need them if you have no audience. I enjoy Golden Girls but enough is enough.
I’d like to see their earlier romance movies or dramas from Hallmark Hall of Fame. I had assumed it was all on the other networks I don’t get like their Movies and Mysteries or Drama. But many have shown up under the same title sometimes, or different titles, on UP TV. Someone mentioned the Peter Falk Christmas series.

I'm not familiar with any of the hosts, but they're all great in what they do. And I like that none of them are big celebrity blowhards. Hallmark's 'Home & Family' was canceled in March of 2021. You also seem to be completely unaware that there were right wing groups like proud boys who burned down buildings.. They were taking advantage of the protests to hide themselves but they have been arrested and many have already been tried.

The movies are great with a lot of the same stars. The difference is the absence of all the woke BS being shoved down our throat by Hallmark. I can now let my 9 year old watch with me again. Hallmark doesn’t care about losing money or viewers – this is all about tearing down something good and pure. Liberals want everything vile and polluted just like the rest of the trash on tv. The powerful people at the top can’t have anything good standing in the way of the narrative they’re trying to push, and they’ll destroy anything in their way.
Could’ve done without some of the added cast members and thought the children of Cassie & Jake, Jake’s kids, and Sam’s son, should’ve been there in the last episode. And been disappointed at all the sitcom reruns and lack of airing great more older and newer Hallmark movies. Now, I hear that the former Great American County that aired country music programming is now a family style channel and taking on movies and former H&F cast? Depending on content, I may have to go over to it more. Hallmark got caught up in trying not to be caught in the cancel culture.
